MU progresses still better than Barcelona, English football dominates the European rankings

UEFA has announced the rankings of the teams with the best results in the European Cup in the last 5 seasons.

In the last 5 seasons, MU did not have good results in the European Cup. They had up to 2 seasons of absence from the C1 Cup, not to mention their best achievement was only finishing second in the Europa League in the 2020/21 season.

In this year's C1 Cup group stage, MU was eliminated when ranked bottom of Group A. This caused them to drop in the rankings of European clubs.

Top 10 strongest clubs on the European club rankings

Remember that before the current season's C1 Cup took place, coach Ten Hag's team was ranked 7th by UEFA. But in the latest rankings, the Old Trafford home team was demoted to 9th place.

However, MU still has a better position than other big teams, typically Barcelona or Arsenal. Barcelona is inherently a team that regularly participates in the C1 Cup, in addition, it has passed the group stage 3 times in the last 5 seasons. But the Camp Nou home team is only ranked 12th on the European club rankings.

Meanwhile, Arsenal ranked even lower when they ranked 21st. The "Gunners" have only really made a difference in the European Cup in the past 2 seasons, so their low ranking is understandable.

Man City, with a winning record in the group stage of the current season's C1 Cup, along with the championship in the 2022/23 season, continues to lead the rankings of European clubs. Right behind is Bayern.

In the top 10 of the European club rankings, English football dominates with 4 representatives (Man City, Liverpool, MU and Chelsea). Meanwhile, Serie A, despite losing Juventus, still has 2 representatives in the top 10 when Inter Milan rose to 6th place.

English teams in the past 5 seasons have mostly performed very well in the C1 Cup. Man City and Chelsea made the biggest difference when winning the championship.

Manchester United head coach Erik Ten Hag had an interview with the media before the Liverpool - MU match in round 17 of the Premier League (11:30 p.m., December 17). MU is in 6th place before this match and must meet the top team in the table.

Harry (Maguire) will have to miss the next few matches but I think it won't be long. Luke Shaw trained this morning and can play in this match. Rashford will return but Martial not yet.

Who will be the captain in Fernandes' absence?

Yes I know who will be the captain.

About personal pressure

I'm focusing on the process of helping the team get better and that's my main concern. I have nothing to worry about because I'm here with the goal of winning and helping the team play better. Good but not enough is what I evaluate at the moment, we are not stable and I need to find a solution.

About Rasmus Hojlund

He has scored five goals at the highest level, the Champions League, and that is a very good score for a very young player. He has potential and I'm sure he will score goals in the Premier League soon. I saw how he performed in practice.

About opponent Liverpool and the "scar" of losing 0-7

I have nothing to worry about, we will field a squad capable of challenging them and best prepare for every situation. I am confident that the squad I field can win.
