Launching KIA K9 2025, a luxury sedan priced from 1.1 billion VND

KIA K9 is the flagship sedan model that the Korean car company expected to enter the luxury segment compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The current generation of KIA K9 was launched in 2018 and will be facelifted for the first time in 2021. Up to now, the car has been upgraded again with changes to the steering wheel and additional standard equipment to increase competitiveness with rivals.

Regarding the exterior, the KIA K9 2025 has a new grille cluster with a hyphenated pattern, instead of a V-shaped one like on the old version. In addition, the car also has Pebble Gray color and a new 19-inch wheel design option.

Regarding the interior, K9 2025 retains the same cabin design as its predecessor, but adds a few new technologies. The car's air conditioning system has an "After Blow" feature that plays a similar role as a dehumidifier, keeping the car interior always airy and free of musty smells.

After turning off the engine for about half an hour, After Blow will automatically be activated for 10 minutes to dry the ventilation ducts to avoid mold growth.

The integrated sensor cluster in After Blow ensures the system is not turned on when the car's battery is running low. Additionally, this function remains disabled when the outside temperature is low and also when the air conditioning system is not used for a long period of time.

In addition, the KIA K9 2025 is also equipped with a massage front passenger seat, USB-C ports for both rows of seats and a fire extinguisher. Many features that were previously high-end have now been converted to standard to attract more customers.

KIA K9 currently has 2 engine options: V6 3.3L and V6 3.8L. The 3.3L version has two parameter levels: 250 horsepower/347Nm and 365 horsepower/510Nm. The 3.8L version only has one configuration of 311 horsepower/397Nm. The default transmission is an 8-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive. Previously, this name line had a 5.0L V8 version but it was discontinued since the first facelift because of excessive fuel consumption and emissions.

According to information from the company, KIA K9 2025 is sold at a starting price of 43,800 USD (~ 1.1 billion VND) and up to 64,200 USD (~ 1.6 billion VND) for the most advanced version.

In Vietnam, KIA K9 was distributed by THACO in 2016 (under the name Quoris) but was not well received by consumers because of its unattractive price.
